Senior Practicum

Seniors in the Elementary Education program at BYU-I are required to complete a senior practicum. For my senior practicum, I have been assigned to teach in a fifth grade class at the Madison Middle School. I have spent the last six weeks in this classroom. I am loving it. I have the cutest little kids. I have only been in their classroom for six weeks, but I am already starting to love them and care about them. They are the sweetest fifth graders you'll ever meet. They can at times be a pain, but what can you expect for fifth graders right. I also have the most amazing teacher. Her name is Mrs. Corbridge. She is actually in my ward. She has only been teaching for four years. She has taught me so much in the last six weeks. We seem to just gel. Senior practicum is very time consuming and is a lot of work, but it is worth it. I am in the classroom every Tuesday and Thursday. I have learned so much about teaching and how to teach. It makes me excited to student teach next semester, and to have my own classroom after that. Love it.

Probably the second or third day I was in the classroom this little girl named Adyson drew me this picture. It is so cute all of the kids call me Mrs. Warnick. I even get to wear a name tag with my name on it.
