My handyman

A little known fact about my husband is that he loves to make things. Give him some tools, wood, nails and he is one happy camper. When I mentioned that I might want to make a headboard for our bedroom, Jeremy jumped all over the idea. We sold our bed when we moved to Houston. For the past three months our bedroom has looked as Jeremy would say, "a homeless persons bedroom." Our headboard is a work in progress...but so fun!! We have had fun picking out the material to use and everything else. So excited to have it finished.

The following pictures are of our headboard adventure......

Haha yes that is our wood on top of our car. While living in Rexburg we would often borrow our parents cars to haul things like wood, flat tires, and the occasional jumper cables. In these circumstances we would often turn to each other and say I wonder what we will do when we no longer live by our parents. Tada.....we strapped the wood to the top of our car. Ya, we know a little white trash. I admit we miss the easiness of a call to the parents. We have had to become rather creative.

Jeremy hard at work.

  2. I can't wait to see you headboard too! Knowing you it is going to be beautiful. I love that you strapped the wood to your car. I just bought a sewing desk off Craigslist last week and hauled it home in the front seat of the Impala. I told Luke I need to do a post with all the things I hauled home in the Impala. The list includes 2 desks, a rocking chair, a table with 4 barstools, 2 bookshelves and the list goes on. Over half the furniture we own came home in that thing, while also carrying 1-3 kids. I am the queen of white trash, so if you ever need any tips while in no man's land give me a ring. :) Love you!
